Simon, No apology needed! It bothered me that people maybe made you feel as though you an Anna were obligated to show Bleeker& Macdougal. Thanks so much for the opportunity to meet the dove family. And Thanks for sharing Greenwich Village.
Hi Simon You're a man of your word. Glad to see the webcam is one again working. As much as I enjoyed watching the Doves, I'm glad to see people again. What ever happened to the other egg? Anna can decorate the egg as a momento. Keep up the good work. It may be my screen, but I remembered the image was much sharper before. Thanks for bring it back.
I don't think anyone was trying to make Simon or Anna feel "obligated" to show anything, really. We're all just thankful! Very, very kind of them both to share so much with us. Cheers, Simon and Anna!
Just a note about the remaining egg-I had a chance to take a closer look when I picked up my camera and computer from anna's. The shell appeared slightly translucent to the point I could almost see through it and all I could see inside really was fluid.
Didn't look much like there was anything solid inside of it. I'm guessing then that the remaining egg was unfertilized and probably the first egg of the two that were laid. john (I think) came from the second of the two eggs. Could be wrong, though.
From the little bit that I read on the subject, the only time an egg is left in the nest is when it is unfertilized. If there was a dead bird in the egg, it is expelled.
Hello Mate Wanted to congratulate you on a great job recording the event after the world cup of MacDougal & Bleecker Sts. Surprised you yourself weren't standing on the corner where your webcam is situated and waving a sign Bravo Italia so that we could see the creator of these wonderful images. Will there be more photos of birds hatching their eggs in the future?, or do you wait for someone to mail you the location? If I see anything remotely as interesting, I will certainly want you to be there and setup your webcam. Keep up the good work and continue success in your pursuit of other images to share with us.
Hello... is the Macdougal & Bleecker cam no longer working? Looks like the last post was in July of 2006, so I guess it isn't working, but maybe it's moved to another website?

Is the Macdougal & Bleeker cam defunct? The last post seems to be from July of 2006. Is it possible that it's moved to another website?
